As the world faces unprecedented challenges, women philanthropists are continuing to advance justice with community-grounded solutions. At the 2025 Global Philanthropy Leaders’ Summit, our Founder and Managing Director, Yvonne Moore, participated in “Paving the Future of Philanthropy with Bold Women at the Helm,” a discussion exploring how women and underrepresented groups are driving transformative shifts in philanthropy.
She was joined by Stacey Boyd, Founder and CEO of Olivela; Amy Dornbusch, Founder of AtlasDaughters and Director at Marks Family Foundation; and Ruby Khan, Strategist at a Private Family Office. Moderated by Kristin Hayden, Founder and President of Vision Powered Ventures, the session called on donors to meet this urgent moment with action: to lead with values, give boldly, and resist the instinct to pause or pull back.

Maurice Stinnett, MA, PhD, Appointed to Moore Philanthropy Board of Directors
NEW YORK, January 21, 2025 – Moore Philanthropy is thrilled to announce that Maurice Stinnett, MA, PhD, has joined the Board of Directors for its public charity or 501(c)(3) exempt entity.
Dr. Stinnett brings to Moore Philanthropy expertise in global leadership, strategic planning, communication, and organizational transformation, as well as inclusion and equity across the corporate, nonprofit, and education sectors. He is a dynamic public speaker who fiercely advocates for equity and inclusion. Prior to this, he served as the inaugural Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Warner Music Group, where he was recognized on their “Billboard Power List,” which ranks the most influential people in the music industry.
Previously, Dr. Stinnett made history as the first Black man to be appointed Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for an NBA team in his work for BSE Global, owner of Barclays Center and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.
Moore Philanthropy and Hispanics in Philanthropy Hold “Global Changemakers: The Vision and Impact of International Generosity”
On September 17, 2024, Moore Philanthropy and Hispanics in Philanthropy held a virtual panel, “Global Changemakers: The Vision and Impact of International Generosity.” The event featured Yvonne Moore, Managing Director at Moore Philanthropy; Ana Maria Guerrero, President of the Board at Fundación Carvajal; and Ese Emerhi, Global Network Weaver at The Global Fund for Community Foundations. Panelists highlighted how historically oppressed communities have been redefining philanthropy and moving money in impressive ways, and explored how funders can help international donors enhance their global impact.

Mo’ Money, Mo’ Progress: Amplifying the Impact of Donors of Color
On April 9, 2024, the Marmalade Festival hosted the panel discussion “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Progress: Amplifying the Impact of Donors of Color.” The event featured influential figures in philanthropy like Yvonne Moore, Managing Director of Moore Philanthropy; Hilda Vega, Vice President of Philanthropic Knowledge and Practice; and Solome Lemma, Executive Director of Thousand Currents, who addressed the evolving landscape of philanthropy as shaped by communities of color and historically marginalized groups.
The panelists discussed the overlooked contributions of these communities, the narrow current definition of philanthropy, and the necessity for inclusive practices that recognize and support diverse giving traditions such as mutual aid and giving circles. The 90-minute conversation also explored new strategies for empowering donors of color, aiming to create a more equitable philanthropic sector.
